The Heritage site I am writing about is The Safdarjung Tomb. I, along with some of my friends visited this place in 2019. We went there as our faculty suggested a visit to this place for Art History Study. I had never heard of this tomb before and therefore didn’t expect it to be so grand and beautiful. We clicked pictures and saw the detailed carving work on the walls and ceiling of the monument. It is built on a huge area and has both sandstone and marble work in it. The tomb had chambers and a sarcophagus in one of them. The Sarcophagus has beautiful carvings and decorations. The thing I liked the most was how well the tomb was maintained. We often see gorgeous monuments that are not well kept and are either torn away or smelled. However, this tomb felt like a journey through the past. The overall appeal of this monument was mesmerising for us all.
